Workshops & Classes

Our workshops and classes help you gain freedom from excess and overconsumption. We teach methods for cultivating a more sustainable, balanced life.

In our dedication to lifelong learning, we are always experimenting with new sustainable living technologies and processes, and continually growing our educational offerings. Some of our teachers live here full time while others visit from around the world to host special workshops. We believe that people who work toward living small, sustainable lives are happier and healthier as a result.

Introduction to Permaculture

Permaculture is a set of design principles centered on whole systems thinking, imitating the no waste, closed loop systems seen in diverse natural systems, or using them directly.

The seven principles of permaculture are Soil, Water, Food, Climate, Shelter, Energy and Ethics. During this course, you will learn how each of these things plays into the others, and gain hands-on experience applying them using different methods and best practices.

Our goal is to expand our permaculture learning opportunities as we continue to grow.

Some examples of permaculture practices include composting, rainwater collection, raising livestock for labor and sustenance, and beekeeping.
